Modak is an Indian sweet popular in several parts of India, especially in Maharashtra. The sweet filling on the inside of a modak consists of freshly grated coconut and jaggery whereas the soft outer shell is formed from rice flour or flour mixed with khava or maida flour. These Modak are prepared by adding coconut, nutmeg and saffron in sweet flour. Later they are cooked in steam. This is a type of Indian dessert, which is made the highest on Ganesh Chaturthi.

The modak are often deep-fried or steamed. The steamed version (called ukdiche modak) is commonly eaten hot with ghee.

For stuffing:

  • 1 cup coconut, grated 1 cup jaggery, grater A pinch nut A pinch of saffron

To create a shell:

  • 1 cup water 2 tsp ghee 1 cup rice flour

Method to make Modak recipe .

Method of preparation of filling material:

  •  Heat a pan on the flame and add grated coconut and jaggery in it.
  • Just run the mixer for five minutes. After this mix nutmeg and saffron in it.
  •  Cook the mixer again for five minutes. Now take it off the flame and keep it aside.

To prepare Modak:

  • Boil by adding water and ghee in a deep vessel. Then add salt and flour in it. Mix well.
  • Now let's Cover the pan and leave the mixture to cook. When the mixture is half cooked, add a little ghee on a steel bowl.
  • Wrap the hot dough into the well. Now make the goal of creating small rounds. Press them lightly Prepare the edge of the flower shape.
  • Put the prepared fill mixture in the middle. Close it by adding four sides.
  • Now put them on the muslin cloth. Now cook them in steam for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove and serve it.
